KARACHI: The Sindh transport department nowadays (Monday) has prohibited six and nine-seat Qingqi rickshaws across the province, in step with a notification.

According to details, the Qingqi rickshaws were running while not route permits and documents. Traffic police has conjointly been directed to launch quelling against Qingqi rickshaws while not route permits and papers.

In this regard, the Sindh transport department has written a letter to the Deputy Inspectro-General (DIG) Traffic police, all SSPs and regional secretaries.

The government in 2019 had allowed six and 9 seat rickshaws to resume services on basis of some conditions. The rickshaws ought to have a legitimate fitness certificate from the motorcar Examination Centre.

The vehicles also are alleged to have a legitimate number plate. The Qingqi rickshaws ought to even have a legitimate route allow issued by the regional authority of the transport and mass transit department.
